Dear Reader

Happy 2024!

How was the holiday period for you? I know that for many, the return to be with family over the holidays can reactivate childhood attachment patterns. This could be a great opportunity to notice in a disidentified way, which patterns from your relationship with care-givers are hampering your ability to have happy, fulfilled, autonomous and conscious relationships.

Continue reading below for a special new year's offer (only available in January).

Many of those exploring open relating often suffer because their need for safety and security is tied to their anchor partner, like a childhood need for a parent. This pattern is often what drives people to stick with monogamy and is part of what makes multigamy so difficult.

Despite choosing open relating rationally, the body can still react like it's a threat.

Unconscious monogamy can ofer the illusion of safety, until something unforeseen happens that shatters that illusion.

Open relating serves to shine a light on just how illusory the safety of monogamy can be and leads to finding real emotional security .

How can you break unconscious monogamy programming?

  • By opening your mind to different ways of loving and building relationships.
  • By understanding and noticing the difference between love and attachment.
  • By becoming more differentiated from your partner and learning how codependency exists/existed in your present/past relationship.

When strong feelings of jealousy and fear arise, how can you get your body to respond the way your logical brain wants you to?

  • By becoming aware of the attachment wounding or trauma that directly impacts how your body reacts to perceived threats.
  • By undertaking therapy to heal these wounds and developing somatic (body-based) practices that help regulate the nervous system.
  • By learning to become more resilient to levels of discomfort that used to scare you.

My website has a wealth of resources that can help unpack this and learn how to navigate alternative relationship dynamics. Granted, it's not the most organised website but if you browse a bit you will find:

My wish for 2024 is to help more people discover pathways to happy healthy relationships that are compatible with their boundaries, needs and desires.

I wish for you, that which you wish for yourself.

Dear Reader I hope that you are starting to see spring around you. It could be the first buds emerging, new leaves on trees, certain birds returning.. or it could be an internal feeling of emerging from hybernation, renewed curiosity and a sense of adventure. This March newsletter addresses the recent spike of articles and media interest in polyamory - some positive, some negative and much of it uneducated and misdirected. I include links to some of my content that can help clear up some of...
